Makespace New Member Commitments

As a new member of Makespace, and having completed the new member orientation, I commit to the following:

I will abide by the Yukonstruct Code of Conduct.

If I bring any guests, I will ensure that they have signed a guest liability form, and I will ensure that they do not use any equipment.

I will not use the woodshop and metal shop until I have received the appropriate orientation.

I will not use the laser cutter until I have received the appropriate orientation or completed the self-study guide and asked a knowledgeable staff or member to help me with my first job.

If I am unaware of how to safely use a tool, I will consult either tool cards, check with a staff, or refrain from using the tool until I am confident in my safe use of that particular piece of equipment.

I am aware of the locations of the fire extinguishers in the common area.

If a tool is in unsafe condition, I will lock-out that tool as described in the orientation and notify staff that it is in need of repair.

I commit to cleaning up my work area, putting tools back in the right places, and contributing towards the general cleanliness of the shop as part of my membership in the Makespace.
