The Hougen Group of Companies Mentorship Program connects new entrepreneurs with experienced business leaders for a supportive, four-month learning experience. Participants gain valuable insights, develop essential skills, and form meaningful connections that help them grow their ventures with confidence. This program is offered in partnership by Yukonstruct and the Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce and is tailored to provide emerging entrepreneurs with the expert guidance and supportive community they need to thrive.

Our mentorship program is built on the principles of collaboration, community, and personal growth. By connecting new entrepreneurs with seasoned professionals, we aim to foster meaningful relationships that empower mentees to succeed and provide mentors with an opportunity to share their expertise and give back to the community.

Mentee Requirements & Expectations:
To ensure a productive and impactful experience, prospective mentees must:
- Be working at least 20 hours per week or full-time on their business.
- Be prepared to take initiative, including setting clear goals and proactively scheduling sessions with your mentor.
- Have a clearly articulated value proposition for your business.
- Have completed market validation to demonstrate that your business addresses a real customer need.
- Prioritize active participation throughout the duration of the program—those unable to commit will forfeit their spot.
- Maintain a regular meeting schedule with your mentor, ideally set early in the program.
- Understand that mentees who do not uphold these commitments will be withdrawn from the program.

Personalized Mentor Pairing
Thoughtfully matched mentors and mentees based on industry, expertise, and goals.
Flexible Sessions
Bi-weekly or monthly one-on-one meetings (1-2 hours) as agreed upon with your mentor.
Connected Community on Slack
Stay engaged between sessions with a dedicated Slack workspace, where you can connect with your mentor, stay connected to program leaders, and network with fellow entrepreneurs in your cohort.
Resources for Success
Access to onboarding guide, goal-setting frameworks, and mentorship best practices.
Ongoing Support and Accountability
Regular check-ins and feedback loops to keep you on track and adapt the program as needed.
Program Details:
- Duration: 4 months
- Format: Bi-weekly or monthly meetings, as agreed between mentor and mentee.
- Location: A mix of virtual sessions and in-person sessions (where applicable).
- Cost: A nominal fee of $199 for mentees to confirm program commitment and cover program costs.
- Cost for Mentors: Free, with recognition and networking opportunities as a thank-you for sharing their expertise.
- Eligibility:
- Mentees: New entrepreneurs actively working on or recently starting a business or those embarking ready to refine and scale their operations.
- Mentors: Experienced business leaders with a passion for giving back and supporting entrepreneurial growth.
