Yukon Bat House

14 April 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

By installing a bat house on your property you can give bats a safe place to live while benefiting from their insect control services. In this workshop you will assemble a bat house that is tailored to meet the needs of Little Brown Bats in Yukon’s cool climate.
All of the pieces and tools necessary for the houses are provided except for dark water-based stain (painted over the exterior of the house to promote heat absorption). YuKonstruct woodworking enthusiasts will help you to properly assemble your bat house.
Carrie McClelland, Wildlife Viewing Biologist, will be at the workshop to provide information about Yukon bats, how bat houses are helpful, and where to place your bat house to encourage these nocturnal guests.
Can’t make it to the workshop?
