CNC Router 101

26 July 2020 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Get started on our 4’x4′ CNC Router! This six hour session covers the basics of how to use YuKonstruct’s CNC Router including safety, design software, print settings, material and bit selection.

Considered orientation and safety training for the CNC Router for YuKonstruct members. Participants are required to wear close toed shoes and have all hair tied back for any shop training or workshops.

COVID-19 protocol:

  • We will ask you to wash your hands as soon as you enter the building. After you wash your hands, we encourage you not to touch your mouth or eyes while in the building.
  • We encourage you to bring and wear a fabric or dust mask in the woodshop, to reduce spread of anything and protect you from woodshop dust.

About the instructor: Russ LaChapelle came to the Yukon in the early 90’s to work on the highway and never left. The current manager of Home Hardware’s lumber section, he has always had a love for woodworking and enjoys it when he just needs a break or gets an idea or 10.

When he discovered Yukonstruct, it was a match made in heaven. Russ started to challenge himself making cutting boards, rocking chairs, Time Out chairs for the grandkids, puzzles, aviaries, lizard enclosures, and many other things. He is a veteran using the CNC router and has completed many creative projects on it.

If this training session is full, please sign up for the waitlist to be notified if a spot opens up in this session, or when another CNC Router 101 is scheduled.
