This paddle making workshop will demonstrate and assist participants in building a laminated bent shaft paddle. The workshop is divided into three sessions held over the same week; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, March 3, 5 & 6 from 6 to 9 pm. The first session will cover laminating the shaft and blade, the second session will focus on assembling the blade, shaft and handle, and the third session will involve shaping, placing a spline and glassing the blade.
Participants will use the table saw, jointer, planes, angle grinder, belt sander, spoke shave, rasp, and rotary sander.
Final finishing will be left to participants.
About the Instructor: Bob Sharp has built many paddles over the past 45 years and has used these paddles on many Yukon Rivers.
