Working with Fur – from tanned pelt to fur mittens

Workshop taught in both French and English
Learn how to prepare a skin, trace and cut pelts and sew fur onto material with a domestic sewing machine. You will play with fur and create a stylish pair of lynx fur mittens!
This workshop is divided into two 3-hour sessions. The first class, May 19, with cover analyzing the fur, preparing the fur and 5 basic sewing techniques. The second class, May 20, with involve tracing and cutting fur and material, and sewing the mittens.
About the instructor: Catherine Dallaire studied Fashion at Marie-Victorin College in Montreal, specializing in Fur. She has worked in apparel research and innovation, created costumes and designed recycled clothing. Catherine enjoys working with various textures and on stimulating projects.
