In this beginner sewing workshop you will learn the anatomy of a domestic sewing machine as well as how to thread your machine and bobbin. Then you will lay out a pet bed pattern, cut out the fabric and sew it in one evening. You will learn the basic straight stitch and zig zag stitch as well as how to go around corners and create a “pocket” so your bed is washable. The skills you will learn in this workshop are easily transferred to sewing curtains, hemming pants, make pillow covers and doing simple alterations.
All materials will be provided for this workshop. If you have a particular fabric you would like to use you are welcome to bring it. You will get to choose to make a small, medium, large, or extra large bed (or any size in between).
