In this beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop, participants will learn the basics of creating a rubber stamp to print on paper and fabric.
The workshop will cover designing and transferring a design onto a 4” x 6” carving block, selecting and correctly using a range of carving tools to etch patterns, and then cleaning up the piece and applying ink to make stamps. Participants will also glue the rubber to a wooden backing for longevity.
The workshop is designed for stamp-making beginners, and is open to all levels!
This workshop will be hosted in Yukonstruct’s yard space, allowing participants to enjoy this experience under the beautiful Yukon summer sun, and all participants will get the option of a beer, provided by Yukon Brewing, or a non-alcoholic option to enjoy while they work.
Carving blocks, tools, ink, wooden backings and printing paper will be provided for all participants, with each person taking home one 4” x 6” carving block worth of stamps, with wooden backings, and any prints they make at the space.
