School is in session, but what comes after each day?

This fall at Makespace, we are opening our doors for youth in grades 5 to 9 to allow them the opportunity to explore a little of maker culture, with a focus on arts and hand-on creative projects.

Over the seven-week series, participants will complete workshops across several of the featured areas of our space, including but not limited to stamp carving, fabric and paper printing techniques, laser cutting, 3D printing and mold-making.

Each session is two hours, from 3:45pm – 5:45pm, on the following dates:
Wednesday, 21st October
Wednesday, 28th October
Wednesday, 4th November
Wednesday, 11th November (No Programming) Remembrance day
Wednesday, 18th November
Wednesday, 25th November
Wednesday, 2nd December
Wednesday, 9th December

During these sessions, participants will have staff-supported access to our tools and equipment. A focus will be kept on active participation while we will prototype, design, create and iterate. While the primary focus will be on hands-on activities, several weeks will feature use of laptops to design pieces for cutting and printing on our equipment.

All materials and required safety equipment will be provided. Participants will need to wear closed-toe shoes at all times, and can bring food for after school snack (if desired).

A participant questionnaire will be sent by email and need to be returned prior to the beginning of the series.

Minimum 4 participants | Maximum 8 participants | Refund & Cancellation Policy
