This is an eight session program running on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:30pm starting Feb. 7th and ending March 2nd.
Yukonstruct is proud to offer our Maker Kids after school program! Your children will have the opportunity dive into exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities while learning to use Yukonstruct’s Laser Cutters, 3D printers, woodshop, sewing machines and electronics space.
Weekly themes and a highly interactive and engaging curriculum will encourage your children to try new things and think outside the box. Thus they will have plenty of opportunities to build resilience and self confidence.
With a passion for youth and science, our Maker Mentors recognize the uniqueness of your child and fosters their creative side and joy for STEM. Maker Mentors are trained to have students focus on the why and discover the logic behind the activity instead of following a prescriptive set of instructions. With a 5 to 1 child to staff ratio and a focus on collaborative problem solving our classes are designed for your child to actively participate.
STEM jobs are in demand and an increasing number of careers look for STEM skills. Studies show that kids decide between ages 7-12 whether they will consider STEM as a career option. Give your kids the opportunity to discover STEM in a safe and fun environment.
*Please note that we will do our best to offer these classes in person at northlight innovation. However if government Covid 19 mandates make this impossible we will pivot to online learning (and have awesome maker kits available for pick up) until we are able to do in person classes again.
This program is for Children Ages 9-13. Please visit our website yukonstruct.com/events/ to see our Maker Kids program for ages 5-9.
