It’s hunting season!!

Preparing and preserving high quality meat begins the moment you get your hands on your harvest. In this workshop, you will create your own re-usable game bags specific to the animal that you are preparing to harvest. Game bags keep dirt and insects off of your meat in the field.
Hunter Education & Outreach Officer Jim Welsh will teach you tips for being best prepared to care for your meat in the field and ensure a clean, delicious product at your table.
About the presenter:
Jim Welsh is the Hunter Education and Ethics Coordinator for Environment Yukon. The goal of the Yukon Hunter Education program is promote best practices in the harvesting of Yukon wildlife. Jim has extensive hunting experience working as a Hunting Guide in Alberta, British Columbia and Yukon for 10 years. Jim has been the recipient of two research grants focused on documenting the traditional skills and knowledge of Elders in the Canadian Arctic. As an avid outdoorsmen Jim hopes to promote ethical hunting practices, respect for Yukon resources and proper care of harvested wildlife.
All materials and tools provided, no experience necessary.
