Neil Hartling is an adventure outfitter, guide, author, educator and northern tourism icon.
His business, Nahanni River Adventures and Canadian River Expeditions operated expeditions on over 20 spectacular rivers across the north and in western Canada, employing up to 50 staff and serving 10,000 person-meals per season, all cooked over camp fires and stoves in remote locations. Clients included the rich and famous, as well as those who saved for years for the trip-of-a-lifetime.
National Geographic Magazine named it “One of the Best Adventure Travel Companies on the Planet” and the company has won many awards. Neil liked to describe it as “a business you could see from space”.
He sold his business in 2018 after 34 years of great stories, and many lessons in “The Business of Adventure”.
