This is a course for the new chainsaw user, or the home chainsaw user who wants to increase their skills. We cover safety, starting the saw, ergonomics, basic limbing and bucking, bucking difficulties and solutions, and saw maintenance.
One evening in classroom + 2 days in field!
Get the skills and confidence to buck your own firewood, perform some basic fuel management on your property, or even just decide if you want your own saw.
About the instructor: Raven and Leaf Chainsaw Training is a privately-owned small business that provides saw safety training programs. Rebecca and Erin courses are based on their combined 30 years of saw use within the firefighting and fuel management fields, and informed by extensive standard training in Alberta through the Wildland Trainer’s Association and BC through WCB/Forest Service saw training. In the Yukon, there is currently no Territorial chainsaw certification recognized. Their approach is to train safe, responsible operators.
