With the guidance of Samantha Hand (Executive Director of Skills Canada Yukon + sewing enthusiast), we will walk through the step by step process of making a simple bag with a zipper.
Sewing machines and tools will be provided to all participants. If you would like to bring your personal machine that is fine, as long as it has a new needle, a bobbin, a zipper foot and is working and ready to go.
Important: You will need to bring your own Zipper, fabric and notions as listed below:
- Zipper: 6″ for a small pouch, 12″ for a large pouch
- Exterior fabric: about 12″x14″ for a small pouch, 18″ x 22″ for a large pouch (could use old t-shirt, bed sheet, etc)
- Interior fabric: same measurements as exterior (could use old t-shirt, bed sheet, etc)
- Coordinating thread
