At the heart of Yukonstruct lies a deep commitment to nurturing a sense of community and belonging. We believe that within this community, we can co-create an organization that provides a welcoming, inclusive space for all Yukoners to bring their ideas to life. Our values, encapsulated in five core principles, guide us in building a brighter, more sustainable, and more inclusive future for all.

We firmly believe in the power of social connections for the benefit of both businesses and individuals. To bring this to life, we offer a supportive, collaborative, and creative space where everyone is encouraged to share their dreams and visions.

Our commitments include:

  • Regular networking events to foster a diverse and vibrant membership base.
  • Maker Meetups, Lunch & Learns, and Member Success Stories to share and learn from one another.
  • Meeting room enhancements including technology improvements and sound dampening.
  • A comprehensive new member welcome package.
  • Launching our innovative Pathfinding App to complement and improve our pathfinding services.

Yukonstruct is dedicated to providing access to workspace, tools, information, and networks that open doors to untapped potential. Our culture is built on being welcoming, friendly, and helpful, with a focus on continuous support.

Our initiatives include:

  • Quarterly ecosystem meetups with partners to build and promote collaboration.
  • A new volunteer program to expand our support network.
  • Running Bootcamp cohorts and regular programming to support new ideas.
  • Maker Kids programs focus on STEAM skills for the next generation.

Embracing change and taking risks define our bold approach. We understand that failure is a part of the learning process and that true innovation may require breaking the norms.

Our bold initiatives include:

  • Collaboration with Yukon Venture Angels to develop a Yukon Investment Coop.
  • Instilling resiliency by hosting events like the “Fail Boldly: Breaking the Failure Taboo” to encourage a fearless mindset.
  • Quarterly investment roundtable meetups with Yukon Venture Angels.
  • Expanding our facilities, such as launching a machine shop and paint booth.
  • Setting ambitious corporate sponsorship targets to support our community.
  • Making the Hall of Innovators bigger and bolder each year.
  • Launching the first MakerFaire North of 60.

Creativity is the lifeblood of Yukonstruct. We love helping people create, whether it’s ideas, businesses, objects, or machines.

Our commitment to creativity involves:

  • An action plan to enhance art and branding within and outside our building.
  • Building a living plant wall in the lobby.
  • Hosting the annual Hall of Innovators awards to celebrate creativity and innovation.
  • An annual member and volunteer appreciation event in December.
  • A public-facing open-house community BBQ in the summer to welcome new members.

Valuing diversity and recognizing the power of different ideas and people form the foundation of our inclusive culture.

Our commitment includes:

  • Implementing a “Safe to Speak Up” culture within our community.
  • Attracting and supporting community engagement and new members.
  • Building diverse partnerships to strengthen our inclusive initiatives.
  • Creating an inclusive culture for all through accessibility measures.
  • Launching a comprehensive Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan.

At Yukonstruct, these values aren’t just words; they are the guiding principles that shape our community, making it a place where everyone belongs and has the opportunity to thrive. We are building a future that is brighter, more sustainable, and more inclusive for all, and we can’t do all of these without the soul and heart of our community – YOU!
