Fahd is the Operations Director at Yukonstruct. His role encompasses smooth operations of the facility, member-tenant management including satisfaction with the services provided, scheduling our lovely ops team to keep the space running, and just the overall running of the facility. His role is quite dynamic and allows him to work on a bit of everything with new and interesting projects frequently coming up.

Why did you join Yukonstruct?

When my wife and I moved to Whitehorse, Yukonstruct kept on coming up during my job search and was the only organization that resonated with me. I chose to finally put in an application – and was called for an interview and successfully became part of the operations team.

What do you like most about Yukonstruct being up and running?

What I love about Yukonstruct being up and running is truly the feeling that we as a community can create our dreams into realities. It allows many people from around Yukon the ability to work in space independently or together with other makers, creators, or entrepreneurs.

What do you like to make?

I love to cook and create new recipes that reminisce about the time I spent in my home country Pakistan.

What do you want to build at Yukonstruct?

There are many things I want to build at Yukonstruct, however, if I had a chance I would love to create a set of handcrafted kitchen knives.

What are you working on now?

Currently, I am working on launching our newly developed volunteer program. I worked with a local consultant to develop an effective, robust, and efficient volunteer program that can help and support our community in a positive way.

Thanks for being awesome, Fahd!
