Daniel Blake was raised in Tsiigehtchic and now lives in his grandmother’s home community of Old Crow. When he is not spending time with his 3yr old son Thomas, he’s working on his business.

Daniel has always enjoyed cleaning outdoors and has often wondered how he could make money doing what he loves. When Yukonstruct came to Old Crow, the pieces started coming together! Today, he is working through the steps to be fully registered and has long-term goals to grow his business.

What is one thing that you look forward to every season?
Hunting season!
When someone from out of town comes to visit, what is something you always do or prepare to eat?
Depends on the season. This time of year (August), we can do the tour – depending on how much time we have – go up Crow Mountain, and go to the beach. Smell the willows!
Name one or two Yukoners you are influenced by, and why?
First is Annie Blake, MLA for Vuntut Gwitchin. She helped me get into treatment, and it changed my life. The second person is Sophie, the mother of my son, for all the support she gives me and others.
If you could have a superpower, what would you choose and why?
HEALING POWER! Because there are so many things in this world that are broken, I would like to help.
