YuKonstruct Makerspace Society has been federally recognized in the Federal Budget 2018 for its contribution to the innovation ecosystem in the territories.
While succeeding as somewhat separate entities, our dream was to bring together, and collaborate with, all our talented members and partners, under the same roof!
In March 2018, Federal and Territorial Governments and Northern Vision Development announced their financial support for the new Yukon Innovation Hub. Yukon College and Yukon Development Corporation have partnered on the launching of the facility by agreeing to be major anchor tenants. YuKonstruct converted a long-vacant building into a multi-tenant facility designed to unleash creativity and innovation, allowing for bolder ideas and greater possibilities.
As of July 2018, YuKonstruct Makerspace Society is operated and governed by a passionate team of 10 staff members and 9 Board members. The society counts over 170 active members.
