Yukonstruct has reached 65 paying members!
Not a small accomplishment considering we’re barely a year old in a small local population. This is proof Yukon is a creative community with people learning new skills, building new things, where innovation and entrepreneurship grows.
Universities are noticing, Syracuse University Interim Vice Chancellor and Provost Liz Liddy sees great promise and potential in Makerspace saying how they are “a valuable resource for nurturing students’ personal intellectual discovery, self-education, and entrepreneurial spirit.” Makerspaces are becoming increasingly relevant due to significant changes in “what types of skillsets have real, applicable value in a rapidly advancing world” writes the NMC Horizon Report: 2015 Higher Education Edition as it concludes Makerspaces will have a profound impact on higher education within the next five years.”
Regardless of your background or intended destination I encourage you to check out Yukonstruct at 135 Industrial Road and perhaps join this movement and ignite that Yukon creativity.
